best care

For Steph

Summer has been...well summer so far. The only difference between what I was doing last summer and this is that I'm not taking classes and working more. Which isn't a bad thing. The only down side is checking all the subject guides again, and again, and again. I'm leading right now with 18-ish. But it's something to do so that I can distract myself from reading anything that has to do with hockey at the moment. Fucking Penguins.

This past weekend was a lot of fun. Kendra had her batchlorette party. It was a lot of fun. There were about 7 (which I'm exacted now that I'll know more people at the wedding!) of us, and we went out for a nice dinner, and played some drinking games, and then hit the bar. We weren't there for very long, as Kendra was on the verge of passing out an hour into the bar. Which was alright, I came home and decided that not sleeping was a good idea.

I got the funniest typed IM this morning. Okay, it wasn't really funny, more 'grate on my nerves' kind of question, but then you can later make fun of, type of funny. And I quote "I fogot my not boock 3rd floor have you find for me." No shit.

Everyone knows it's Butters!

Can today get any better?

I'm so freaking happy right now. I'm DONE with finals, and I've got a whole day to myself. I've already got my laundry done, went to 7-11 to get pop, and picked up Maggies on the way home. It's so gorgeous out side and we're taking Andy out tonight for one last hurrah before he heads back to Maryland after graduation on Saturday. Now I'm enjoying my breakfast and watching some of season two of Supernatural, which I picked up the other day for less than $20. XD Life is so good right now.

best care

So, after two months of trying to get the reconstructive surgery that my mom had to work, she's getting it removed today. It just wouldn't stay closed, and apparently there's not enough skin to keep it closed. Sometimes I think it was a good thing that dad got laid off, that way he's been able to stay home and take care of mom. But at the same time, she's the only one working right now, and she's had to take a lot of time off for this. I just feel so bad that she's had to go through all of this, and it didn't work out. It was really heartbreaking to her her on the phone last night. I just wish there was something else I could do.

I'm in a bit of a grumbly mood today.

Now that Rick Nash is no longer spiting my fantasy hockey team, I'm back to loving them.

Resolution for the week: decide if graduating now and then going to grad school next year would be better than going the same amount of time just to finish off my undergrad. I could live with being a professor.

....

my head hurts.

I need to stop writing horribly sarcastic papers. It's going to get me in trouble one of these days.

For some reason I'm having trouble getting into The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe....but I can't quite put my finger on why....

Mornings like today just make me want to stay in bed cuddled up with a blanket with hot chocolate and a book.... but alas, I'm at work.

Okay so I just found this and I'm really excited about it. Even though I hated French when I was taking it, I think it had to do more with the learning environment, because when I was in 1000, I loved it. So maybe I can learn a new skill on my own time, and that would be very exciting. Plus, they've got this simple phrases in 36 languages, and I just think it'd be cool to learn how to say anything in like say, Icelandic. Haha.

Foo Fighters

I know it's only October but...

I know what I want for Christmas (And this is more or less so I remember so when I get asked "What do you want for Christmas I can be "This!" and then try not to get offended by the "you are so incredibly dorky" stares that I'm bound to get).

This in Cranberry or Hollyberry or Winters Night maybe 2-3 balls so I can make something fun and warm with it, like a fun scarf set for someone.

This in I'm thinking 2 balls in Caution and one in Black so I can make a fun long WMU Scarf.

This. Though this is a bit more expensive I wouldn't ask for this, this would be something I'd splurge on. But seriously, how amazing would this be?

And finally This. I'd make a hat out of this in a heart beat.

Oh, I also wouldn't mind buying some of their Bare S
uperwash Merino yarn and then dying it myself with kool-aide as they suggest. That would be AMAZING!

Edit:OMG OMG OMG. The new librarian just said that her mother, who no longer knits, has a ton of yarn just lying around and she said she's going to give it to me. Not buy like I offered, but GIVE. Holy crap.

Everyone knows it's Butters!

(no subject)

Now that it's fall I don't feel so weird knitting all the time. Matter of fact, fall might be my new favorite season to do so.

I'm lame, I'm working on a set of washcloths for my grandma for when she goes down to Texas, and maybe a nice hand towel, though that's only if I've got some left over. I might anyway, the yarn was only $1.50 at Wally World.

And since [info]deux got her present this weekend, I can post my two kind of new finished projects!

I have no life, but I still feel productive )

Everyone knows it's Butters!

(no subject)

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the fact that I've decided to make everyone Christmas presents this year, I keep adding things to my list, and being okay with it. But lately I've discovered that my textbooks actually lie flat and I can knit while I read, which actually more productive that I had originally thought. So basically, go me.

I've also noticed that since I've started doing this, my stress level has gone down like woah, and I'm more relaxed and just enjoying the day.

I don't know, I thought it was pretty cool. XD
